SIVABALAN SANKARAN was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 1989 and has been in practice since then in Brunei and Malaysia.
He is a highly regarded senior contracts, commercial and litigation lawyer and in his early practice was a highly-experienced insurance lawyer having been retained by major insurance companies for a variety of matters involving areas of insurance including marine, damage claims, fire and general insurance matters. He has also represented insurance companies from Singapore, Brunei, Malaysia and Netherlands in the drafting of policies, and advice on corporate restructuring, mergers and more.
He worked with international counsel on numerous arbitrations including construction and international commercial contract-related arbitration and is now focused on the Construction sector in Malaysia.
He represents multinational clients in a wide range of other litigious matter including insolvency, building contracts and construction disputes, land disputes, landlord and tenant matters, banking and finance litigation, and defamation. He has appeared in the courts in Malaysia and Brunei both at first instance and appellate level at the Court of Appeal and Federal Court in Malaysia and at the Court of Appeal in Brunei. He has also appeared as expert witness on Brunei law in the High Court in Singapore.
Mr Sankaran was listed in Chambers for Business law in Brunei. He is a Fellow of the Malaysian Society of Adjudicators, a Fellow of the Asian Institute of Alternative Dispute Resolution, a member of the Malaysian Institute of Arbitrators as well as an acrcedited Arbitrator and Adjudicator with the Asian International Arbitration Centre (formerly known as KLRCA).

FAKHRUL ANWAR BIN RAMLI was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 1997 and has been in practice since then.
He completed his pupilage with Messrs Tia & Nordin and thereafter he joined several firms in Johor bahru namely Messrs Ali Zaitun & Baharuddin, Messrs Othman Hashim & Co., Messrs Shariff & Som and Messrs Rahim & Lawrnee where the main areas of his work are in general litigation, conveyancing practice, corporate banking and constructions dispute. Further, he has provided a full range of services in attending corporate and conveyancing work for reputable developers such UEM Sunrise Berhad, Uda Holdings Berhad, Perbadanan PRIMA Malaysia, Crescendo Corporation Berhad and Country Garden Pacificview Sdn Bhd for each stage in development of commercial, residential, industrial and mixed development project.

WONG HAI WAI was called to the Malaysian Bar in 1986 and has been in practice since then specialising in trial court experience including appellate work. He completed his pupilage with Messrs Manjit Singh Sachet, Mohammad Radii & Partners and thereafter joined the firm of Messrs Megat Najmuddin Leong & Partners.
In 1989 he joined Messrs T. H. Su & Co and he was the partner in-charge of litigation department. The main areas of his work are in banking recovery work, insolvency, co-operative societies and construction disputes and arbitration.
He set up his own firm of Messrs Wong Hai Wai & Associates in 1997 specialising in drafting contracts, construction disputes and contract management. The main areas of his work center on construction disputes and arbitrations with the collorary action in court for applications for injunctions against calls for guarantees and performance bonds, applications for leave to enforce arbitral awards, applications to set aside arbitral awards, applications to stay court proceedings, applications to remove arbitrators.
In 2009 he joined Messrs Tan Swee Im, P.Y. Hoh & Tai [now known as Messrs Tan Swee Im, Siva & Partners] as a consultant.

LEEM LAY GIAN

LEEM LAY GIAN was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2008 and has been in practice since then.
She joined Messrs C. L. Boo & Associates, Batu Pahat in 2008 and was assigned to conduct general civil litigation matters such as foreclosure proceedings, bankruptcy proceedings, joint or unilateral divorce petition, petition for Grant of Probate / Grant of Letters of Administration, Small Estate Distribution applications, claims for goods sold and delivered to name but a few. She also handled conveyancing matters.
Subsequently, in August 2011, Ms. Leem joined Messrs Wang & S. B. Wong, specialising in all sorts of conveyancing practice including sale and sub-sale of properties, land dealing, commercial and corporate loan, perfection of transfer and charge, preparation of tenancy agreements, will writing and more. She was involved in some renowned development projects namely Country Garden, Danga Bay; Tropez Residences, Danga Bay; Bora Residences, Danga Bay; KSL Residences, Taman Century; Twin Galaxy Residences, Jalan Dato Abdullah Tahir; and Seasons Apartment, Larkin all of which are located in Johor Bahru.

Ponnusamy Raman obtained his Mechanical Engineering degree from University Technology Malaysia, Skudai Johor in 1995. Thereafter he worked in the building and power plant to oil and gas industry (downstream and upstream) projects for the next 24 years. He rose from the rank of graduate mechanical engineer to various capacities till his last position as Project Manager.
He is well verse in project management in Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning (EPCC) projects. His experience and knowledge acquired in managing EPCC projects qualified him to be certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP), a certification awarded by Project Management Institute (PMI) in the USA. In his course of managing projects, he has dealt with clients like TNB, Alstom, IHI, Toshiba, Esso, Petronas Carigali, Talisman, Bumi Armada, HHI, Leighton, SBM, Pertamina and Husky-CNOOC Indonesia. He acquired adequate and essential understanding in project planning, managing engineering and procurement works until handling over projects.
While working in projects, he read law part time and graduated with a LLB Second Class (Upper Division) in August 2018 from University of London. He then proceeded to complete his Certificate of Legal Practice (CLP) in October 2019.
He completed his pupilage at Messrs Tan Swee Im, Siva and Partners. He is currently involved in construction and and commercial litigation in the firm.
PRAMOD NAMBIAR

PRAMOD NAMBIAR was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2018 and has been in practice since then.
After completing his pupillage with Messrs Francis Pereira & Shan, Pramod had initially embarked in his career as an advocate and solicitor with the same firm.
Pramod's experience was honed in the area of general litigation, assisting in various claims ranging from the simplest of debt collections to more complex issues involving Constitutional questions. He has enjoyed a practice in delving into various areas of the law including Tortious claims, Divorce and Matrimonial proceedings, Wills and Probate, and Citizenship issues involving stateless children.
In January of 2024, Pramod joined Messrs Tan Swee Im, Siva & Partners where he handles General Litigation matters.
CHEAH SEE YAN
CHEAH SEE YAN was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2019.
She joined Messrs K.S. Pang & Co and subsequently Messrs Justin Voon, Chooi and Wing before making a brief career change to in-house legal counsel. During her practising years, she handled civil and criminal litigation, including but not limited to negligence, contractual disputes, construction disputes, employment disputes, watching brief, youthful offenders’ offences, minor drug offences and trademark offences in different hierarchy of courts. Currently, she is also a practising company secretary.
In January 2024, she joined Messrs Tan Swee Im, Siva & Partners wherein she handles litigation matters in the firm.
NORVINDRAN SIVARAJAH

NORVIN graduated from the University of of London in 2017 and obtained the Certificate in Legal Practice in 2018. He was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on 14.2.2020.
He is a motivated civil and criminal litigator with the proven know how to combine creative approaches with in depth legal knowledge to obtain necessary results. He has assisted and conducted matters in all tiers of the Malaysian Courts and quasi-judicial tribunals.
Norvin’s main areas of practice are in employment law, contract law, criminal law, the law of tort, strata management law, company law, housing developer law and construction law
Norvin joined Messrs Tan Swee Im, Siva & Partners in September 2023 and works in the dispute resolution and alternative dispute resolution department of the firm.
BOO JIA SHIN
BOO JIA SHIN graduated with a Bachelor of Law (Hons.) from Multimedia University in 2021 and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2022.
She underwent her pupillage with Messrs S.K. Song where she was exposed to conveyancing matters including sub-sales, discharge of charge, deed of receipt and reassignment, perfection of transfer and tenancy. She also assisted in matrimonial proceedings, Will and trust, estate administration and commercial disputes.
She joined Messrs Tan Swee Im, Siva and Partners in August 2022. She is currently handling conveyancing matters.
IZYAN BINTI NAZIM
IZYAN BINTI NAZIM graduated from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) with a First Class LL.B (Hons) in 2021 and LL.B (Shariah)(Hons) in 2022. She was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2023.
During her university days, she had undergone two internships. In 2020, she did her first structured internship with Messrs Othman Hashim & Co. and in the following year, she undertook an internship with Messrs Azmi & Associates. She had the opportunity to assist the lawyers in matters relating to bankruptcy proceedings, accident & personal injury and conveyancing matters.
She completed her pupillage at Messrs Tan Swee Im, Siva and Partners. She was exposed in general litigation matters including contract disputes, Tortious claim, debt recovery, professional negligence matters and land disputes. She also assisted in probate and land administration proceedings. Currently, she is handling litigation matters in the firm.

CYNTHIA JESSY ANAK JOSEPH graduated from University Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) with Bachelor of Law Degree with Honours (LLB Hons) in August 2022. Upon her graduation, she went through her pupillage at Messrs. Syed Alwi, Ng & Co before she was admitted as an Advocates and Solicitors of the High Court Malaya in 2023.
During her pupillage, she handled conveyancing matter such as Developer's Project Cases, Refinancing, Loan Agreement for Sub sale cases, Perfection cases, Will and estate matter, Discharge of Charge, Deed of Gift and also Tenancy Agreement. At the same time, she also handled Civil litigation matter such as Insurance Accident Claims, Banking Litigation, Auction Cases and Bankruptcy cases.
Her enthusiasm and determination to expand her passion in the conveyancing, she joined Messrs. Syazwan Syazani & Partners in 2023 as the Legal Associate focusing on Sub sale cases, Loan Agreements for Sub sale cases, Perfection of transfer and Perfection of charge and Refinancing matter.
In 2024, Cynthia then joined Messrs Tan Swee Im, Siva and Partners and currently handling conveyancing matters.
